Although we've had a tiny bit of cold weather off and on this winter, it is important to keep things in perspective. The wife just called my attention to these impressive pictures taken after a January, 2005 ice storm in Versoix, a town near Geneva, Switzerland. Very strong winds gusting over Lac Léman helped set the stage for these images.Apparently, the photos have been making the acquaintance spam rounds for the past year, claiming to be from several different places; my précis above is the accurate description.

Yup, the post brought on a few days of serious snowfall! It is just the right consistency to support major drifting, otherwise it wouldn't be so bad. Drifts of up to about 18" at my house.
