Well, although I portray myself as a horrible Schadenfreudophile, I must admit that my heart started a leap for joy upon seeing the news headline that Chief Justice Roberts was hospitalized. Had fortune really smiled on our benighted country? Were the conservative Geheime Staatspolizei who are now ensconced in what used to be our highest court of law going to fall from majority?
Of course not. Drop once more to your bloody knees, my heart, no leaps for you! It is simply that Roberts is wealthy enough that he gets to go to the hospital when he trips at his 2 acre summer home.
UPDATE: Looks like it was slightly more serious than a fall. But not serious enough to save our civil liberties.
