This weekend NDM discovered a mystery fungus in her native Illinois plant garden. A cursory Google failed to educate us...perhaps EJB has an idea what the heck this is?(The answer ended up being stinkhorn,)

Ummm. I think it is an alien fungus from outer space. Probably the Martians upset that we landed on their polar base.
In other words, I have no idea, but it is scary and you should run away. Just to be safe.
